An Acura chassis code is the internal platform identifier Acura uses to designate a specific generation. For example, NC1 refers to the second-generation NSX (2017-2022), while DC2 refers to the third-generation Integra Type R (1994-2001). Acura enthusiasts use chassis codes because they specify the exact platform underneath the car, which determines wheel fitment specifications including bolt pattern, offset, hub bore, and brake clearance.

What is the difference between the first-generation NSX and the NC1 NSX?

The first-generation NSX (NA1 and NA2, 1991-2005) and the second-generation NC1 (2017-2022) are completely different platforms. The first-gen uses a 5x114.3 bolt pattern with M12x1.5 lug nuts and split front/rear center bores, while the NC1 uses 5x120 bolt pattern with M14x1.5 lug nuts and a uniform 70.1mm center bore. The two generations also use different OEM wheel sizes — the first-gen ran 15-17 inch wheels depending on year, while the NC1 is exclusively 19/20 inch. Each platform requires its own dedicated fitment approach.
