Porsche 911 Carrera GTS 992.1 (2022–2024) Wheel Fitment Guide — Centerlock

The 2022–2024 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS 992.1 ships standard with centerlock wheels across all five body styles — the Carrera GTS, Carrera GTS Cabriolet, Carrera 4 GTS, Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet, and Targa 4 GTS. The centerlock design is derived from the 911 Turbo S and uses a single large central nut rather than five individual lug bolts. The centerlock GTS shares identical wheel dimensions with the 5-lug GTS — 8.5Jx20 ET50 front and 11.5Jx21 ET67 rear — and runs the same 245/35ZR20 and 305/30ZR21 tire sizes. The same Turbo-spec 408mm front brakes mandate a 20″ minimum at the front for all GTS builds regardless of wheel fastener type. What changes with centerlock is the hardware and service protocol: the single central nut torques to 900 Nm and requires a dedicated torque tool for safe removal and installation. Standard impact wrenches will damage the nut. Wheel spacers are not compatible with the centerlock hub. Direct TPMS sensors must be transferred or replaced when fitting aftermarket wheels. The three optional OEM upgrade packages available on the 5-lug GTS — Carrera Classic, RS Spyder Design, and Carrera Exclusive Design — are 5-lug only and do not mount on the centerlock hub.

Factory Wheel & Tire Configurations

There is one standard delivery centerlock configuration for the 992.1 GTS. Unlike the 5-lug GTS, there are no optional OEM upgrade wheel packages available in centerlock format — the Carrera Classic, RS Spyder Design, and Carrera Exclusive Design packages are 5-lug only. The GTS Lightweight wheel set (Neodyme finish, Manthey-derived forged construction) is available as an optional accessory in CL format but is catalogued separately from the standard delivery wheel.

The centerlock wheel is the standard default delivery on all 992.1 GTS variants — the 5-lug configuration is the no-cost alternative. Wheel dimensions are identical between the CL and 5-lug GTS: 8.5Jx20 ET50 front, 11.5Jx21 ET67 rear, 245/35ZR20 / 305/30ZR21 tires. The 900 Nm centerlock nut requires a dedicated torque tool — standard impact wrenches will damage the anodized nut profile and should never be used. Spacers are not compatible with the centerlock hub design. The three optional OEM upgrade wheel packages available on the 5-lug GTS (Carrera Classic, RS Spyder Design, Carrera Exclusive Design) are 5-lug only and cannot be fitted to the CL hub. Note on 992.2 differences: The 992.2 GTS CL uses a wider 315/30ZR21 rear tire and a higher rear offset (ET79). The specs above apply to the 992.1 only.

Aftermarket Wheel & Tire Configurations

All three setups below are confirmed flush or OEM-equivalent fitments documented by 992.1 GTS centerlock owners in the Rennlist GTS Centerlock Aftermarket Wheel Thread. The OEM centerlock wheel is notably tucked relative to the fender — the community consensus is that aftermarket is needed to reach flush, which is why all documented fitments here move outward from stock. No setups past flush have been documented to the standard required for this guide. All setups require a centerlock-specific aftermarket wheel — standard 5-lug aftermarket wheels do not mount on the CL hub. 20″ is the hard minimum front diameter due to the standard 408mm Turbo-spec brakes.

Three centerlock-specific requirements that do not apply to 5-lug builds. First, the centerlock nut must be torqued to 900 Nm / 664 lb-ft using a dedicated centerlock torque tool — impact wrenches will damage the nut and are never appropriate for this application. Second, wheel spacers are not compatible with the centerlock hub design. Third, the optional OEM upgrade packages (Carrera Classic, RS Spyder Design, Carrera Exclusive Design) do not fit the CL hub — these are 5-lug-only packages. All other platform constraints from the 5-lug guide still apply: standard 408mm Turbo-spec front brakes require 20" minimum at the front, and direct TPMS sensors must be transferred or replaced when fitting aftermarket wheels.

Several aftermarket torque tools are available for DIY use, including the Porsche-approved tool and third-party options like the HYTORC Lion Gun kit and RENNtorq V2. If you are not equipped with the correct tool, installation and removal should be done at a Porsche service center or a shop with the proper equipment.

No — wheel spacers are not compatible with the centerlock hub design. The single central nut seats directly against the wheel’s central bore, and there is no provision for a spacer in this system. If you want a more outward stance on a CL GTS, the only path is aftermarket wheels with a lower ET offset. The 5-lug GTS can use spacers; if spacer compatibility matters to you, it is worth considering at the time of ordering.

No. The Carrera Classic (992044660K), RS Spyder Design (992044660J), and Carrera Exclusive Design forged (992044660M) wheel packages are all 5-lug only. They mount via standard M14×1.5 R14 ball seat lug bolts and are physically incompatible with the centerlock hub. These packages can be fitted to a 5-lug GTS or any other 992.1 Carrera 5-lug variant, but not to a CL GTS.

Not interchangeably without verification. The GT3, Turbo, and GTS all use centerlock hubs, but the center bore diameter and the hub flange geometry differ between models. An aftermarket wheel built specifically for the GTS CL hub may not fit the GT3 or Turbo S hub without modification, and vice versa. Always specify your exact vehicle when ordering aftermarket centerlock wheels — wheel manufacturers like Meisterwerk Racing, Apex, HRE, Forgeline, and others will confirm fitment per chassis.

The GTS CL wheel uses ET50 front and ET67 rear — relatively conservative offsets that keep the wheel face inboard of the fender lip. This is the same offset as the 5-lug GTS standard delivery. The Rennlist GTS CL community consistently notes that the OEM stance looks tucked, and that aftermarket wheels at lower ET offsets are needed to achieve a flush look. This is the reason all documented aftermarket fitments in this guide move outward from OEM. The 992.2 GTS addressed this somewhat differently — its CL wheel moved to ET79 at the rear, which is more tucked, not less, suggesting Porsche prioritized different geometry for the wider 315 rear tire.

In practice, no — for reputable aftermarket centerlock wheel brands that are designed specifically for the GTS platform. Rear-axle steering is standard on all 992.1 GTS variants. The RAS actuators sit inside the rear wheel well and can theoretically conflict with unusual inner barrel geometry. Always confirm RAS clearance with the wheel manufacturer before ordering. All three aftermarket setups in this guide are from builders who have fitted these wheels to 992.1 GTS centerlock cars, and none have reported RAS interference.

Technically possible but not a straightforward swap. The hub flanges are different between CL and 5-lug configurations — it is not a matter of simply changing wheels. Converting a CL GTS to 5-lug would require hub and potentially knuckle replacement. In practice, owners who want to use 5-lug aftermarket wheels simply source centerlock-compatible aftermarket wheels instead, as several major manufacturers offer 992 GTS centerlock fitments. If 5-lug compatibility was important, the correct approach is to have selected the 5-lug no-cost option at time of order.

2022–2024 USDM. The 992.1 GTS family launched for MY2022 (US deliveries began early 2022). The 992.2 GTS moved to T-Hybrid power for MY2025. All five body styles were available across the full 2022–2024 run. The 992.2 GTS uses different rear wheel specs (ET79 / 315/30ZR21) — those specs do not apply here.
