Porsche 911 GT3 / GT3 Touring / S/T 992.1 Wheel Fitment Guide

This guide covers three related 992.1 models that share an identical wheel and brake platform: the 911 GT3 (2022-2024), the 911 GT3 Touring (2022-2024), and the limited-edition 911 S/T (2024, 1,963 units). All three use the same OEM wheel dimensions, the same centerlock hub, and the same 20/21″ staggered configuration. They all ride on the Carrera-family body — not the wider Turbo body used by the GT3 RS. Despite sharing the Carrera body width, their wheel offsets are completely different from the Carrera/GTS family: the GT3 family runs ET46 front and ET45 rear, versus the Carrera S’s ET53 front and ET67 rear.

 

The key differences between the three models in this guide: the S/T ships standard with PCCB ceramic brakes while the GT3 and GT3 Touring use steel brakes standard; the S/T deletes rear-axle steering while both GT3 variants have it standard; the GT3 and GT3 Touring offer both 6-speed manual and 7-speed PDK while the S/T is manual-only; and the S/T uses the GT3 RS engine (518 hp) while the GT3 and GT3 Touring use the standard 502 hp GT3 engine. For wheel fitment purposes, these differences are mostly secondary — all three use identical wheel hardware, identical brake clearance thresholds, and the same centerlock torque protocol.

 

All three ship exclusively with centerlock wheels. The centerlock nut requires a calibrated centerlock torque tool at 600 Nm — impact wrenches are never appropriate. Spacers are not compatible with the centerlock hub. Direct TPMS sensors must be transferred or replaced when fitting aftermarket wheels.

Factory Wheel & Tire Configurations

All three models use the same standard delivery wheel: 9.5Jx20 ET46 front / 12Jx21 ET45 rear, forged aluminum, centerlock. Two optional upgrade packages are available: the Manthey Lightweight forged aluminum (GT3 and GT3 Touring only) and the GT3 / S/T Magnesium (forged magnesium, fits all three). The S/T ships standard with the magnesium wheel in an S/T-specific Heritage finish, while GT3 and GT3 Touring buyers can order the same magnesium wheel as an optional upgrade.

Standard delivery on all three models. The GT3 family's front ET46 is considerably more outward than the Carrera S's ET53 front, and the rear ET45 is considerably more outward than the Carrera S's ET67 rear. Both offsets are GT3-specific and reflect the Carrera-width body paired with GT3-specific suspension geometry. Despite sharing the same 5×130 bolt pattern and 71.6mm center bore as the Carrera family, GT3 wheels do not produce the same fitment on a Carrera body — and Carrera wheels do not produce the correct fitment on a GT3. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R is available as a factory option and is the only street-legal track tire offered on a non-RS GT model in the 992.1 generation.

Developed by Manthey Racing in collaboration with Porsche at the Weissach Development Centre, manufactured at Manthey's forged wheel facility in Freudenstadt. Identical rim dimensions to the standard GT3 wheel — the weight savings come from optimized forging and material removal in non-structural areas. The 7.3 kg / 16.1 lbs reduction per vehicle set meaningfully benefits suspension response and rotational mass. Documented as fitting GT3 and GT3 Touring (2021-2024) only. The S/T uses its own Heritage Magnesium wheel as standard delivery and the Manthey lightweight aluminum is not listed as compatible. The Manthey Performance Kit can be ordered with either this wheel set or the standard GT3 wheel set.

The lightest OEM wheel option for the GT3 family — forged magnesium construction saves 8.7 kg / 19.1 lbs per vehicle set over the standard forged aluminum wheel. Identical rim dimensions to the standard GT3 wheel. Documented as fitting 2021-2025 GT3, GT3 Touring, and 911 S/T models. The S/T ships with this wheel as standard delivery (with S/T-specific badging and center caps), while GT3 and GT3 Touring buyers can order it as an optional upgrade. Magnesium wheels require dedicated care: standard alkaline or acidic wheel cleaners will corrode the material. Use only pH-neutral products approved for magnesium.

Aftermarket Wheel & Tire Configurations

All setups below apply equally to the GT3, GT3 Touring, and S/T — all three share identical wheel well geometry, identical wheel hardware, and the same 408mm or 410mm front brake clearance threshold that requires 20″ minimum front wheels. The street setups below use 20″ fronts and clear all three OEM brake configurations (GT3 / Touring 408mm steel, GT3 / Touring optional 410mm PCCB, S/T standard 410mm PCCB). The track setup uses 19″ fronts and requires replacing the factory front brakes with an aftermarket kit whose calipers clear 19″ wheels. All configurations clear rear-axle steering on the GT3 and GT3 Touring; the S/T has no RAS so this constraint is irrelevant on that model.

Three constraints define the GT3 / GT3 Touring / S/T fitment universe. First, despite sharing the Carrera-family body width, the GT3 family uses completely different wheel offsets from all other 992.1 Carrera variants — ET46 front and ET45 rear, versus the Carrera S's ET53 front and ET67 rear. GT3 wheels do not produce correct fitment on a Carrera, and vice versa. Second, all three models ship exclusively with centerlock wheels. The centerlock nut must be torqued to 600 Nm with a calibrated centerlock torque tool — never an impact wrench. Spacers are not compatible. Third, the standard 408mm steel brakes (GT3 / GT3 Touring) and standard 410mm PCCB ceramics (S/T, optional on GT3 / Touring) both require a minimum 20" front wheel. The only path to 19" fronts is replacing the factory front brakes with an aftermarket kit whose calipers clear 19" wheels.

A documented 20/20 setup that drops the rear diameter from OEM 21" to 20", moving to a taller rear sidewall. The OEM ET46 front and 20" ET45 rear pair retains OEM-equivalent stance with the trade-off of a slightly more compliant rear on road bumps. The 315/30-20 rear tire is available in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 / Cup 2 R and other performance compounds, opening up additional autocross and time-trial rubber options not available in 21" diameter. Clears standard 408mm GT3 / Touring steel brakes and 410mm PCCB ceramics. Rear-axle steering compatible on GT3 and GT3 Touring. A documented track-focused configuration for dedicated track use only. 19" fronts require replacing the factory front brakes — neither the standard 408mm GT3 / Touring steel brakes nor the 410mm PCCB ceramics will clear a 19" front wheel. Documented aftermarket front brake kits with smaller-diameter calipers (typically in the 394mm front rotor range) are confirmed to clear 19" and 20" fronts on this platform. The wider 265 front and 325 rear tires open up the full range of competition tire compounds including R-compound and semi-slick options. Reduced unsprung mass from smaller-diameter wheels further improves suspension response. Not suitable for street use without a factory brake swap. The wheels physically mount — same 5×130 bolt pattern and 71.6mm center bore — but the offsets are completely wrong for the other body. GT3 front wheels use 9.5×ET46 versus the Carrera S’s 8.5×ET53; GT3 rear wheels use 12×ET45 versus the Carrera S’s 11.5×ET67. Mounting GT3 front wheels on a Carrera S would result in approximately 20mm of additional protrusion at the front (combining the 7mm offset difference with the wider 9.5″ rim adding 6.35mm more outboard at the face), and GT3 rear wheels would protrude approximately 28mm further than correct (combining the 22mm offset difference with the wider 12″ rim adding 6.35mm more outboard). Carrera wheels on a GT3 would sit deeply tucked. Beyond aesthetics, incorrect offset affects scrub radius and handling geometry. These wheels are not interchangeable in practice.

The GT3 and GT3 Touring ship standard with 6-piston 408mm front steel brakes. These cannot be cleared by a 19″ front wheel. The optional PCCB ceramics on the GT3 family (and standard on the S/T) are 410mm front — also too large for 19″. The only path to 19″ fronts on any of these three models is replacing the factory front brakes with an aftermarket kit whose calipers clear 19″ — documented aftermarket kits in the 394mm front rotor range are confirmed to clear 19″ and 20″ wheels on this platform.

GT3 and GT3 Touring standard: 6-piston 408mm front / 4-piston 380mm rear, cast iron, red calipers. Optional PCCB on GT3 / Touring: 6-piston 410mm front / 4-piston 390mm rear, yellow calipers. S/T standard: PCCB ceramics are standard equipment on the S/T — 6-piston 410mm front / 4-piston 390mm rear, yellow calipers — PCCB is not optional on the S/T, it ships with them. All brake configurations across all three models require a minimum 20″ front wheel.

600 Nm / 444 lb-ft, using a calibrated centerlock torque tool, per Porsche specification for all 992-generation centerlock wheels. Standard impact wrenches must never be used — they apply uncontrolled impact force that damages the anodized nut profile and can compromise proper seating. Porsche specifies a programmed sequence: tighten to 600 Nm clockwise, reverse 60 degrees, then re-tighten to 600 Nm clockwise. For owners without the correct equipment, wheel changes should be done at a Porsche service center or a shop with the proper tool.

The S/T does not have rear-axle steering — this is one of its defining characteristics, intentionally deleted to sharpen steering response and reduce weight. The GT3 and GT3 Touring both have rear-axle steering standard. For wheel fitment purposes: documented aftermarket 19″ and 20″ wheel configurations for the 992.1 GT3 family clear RAS actuators on the GT3 and GT3 Touring. The S/T has no RAS actuators to clear, so there is no RAS fitment concern on that model.

Magnesium is significantly lighter than aluminum — the GT3 / S/T Magnesium wheel set saves approximately 8.7 kg / 19.1 lbs per vehicle set versus the standard forged aluminum wheels, and 1.4 kg / 3 lbs versus the Manthey Lightweight aluminum. This reduction in unsprung and rotating mass improves suspension response and steering feel. The tradeoff is that magnesium requires specific care: alkaline or acidic wheel cleaners will corrode the material. Only pH-neutral cleaners approved for magnesium should be used. The Porsche Wheel Protection Plan coverage on magnesium varies — confirm with your dealer before purchasing.

None. The GT3 Touring uses the same body, the same suspension, the same wheel and tire specs, and the same brake configurations as the GT3. The Touring package removes the fixed rear wing and replaces it with a deployable spoiler, adds leather interior trim, and offers additional Manufaktur trim options. Both are available with the 6-speed manual or 7-speed PDK transmission on the 992.1. All wheel fitment data in this guide applies identically to both. The only ordering difference relevant to fitment is that the Manthey Performance Kit is available on both models, while the Clubsport package is GT3-only.

GT3 and GT3 Touring: 2022-2024 USDM (unveiled February 2021, US deliveries began MY2022). The 992.2 GT3 and GT3 Touring were unveiled October 2024 for MY2025.
